  EVALUATING & ENDING

  THE MENTORING PROGRAM

Checklist for designing mentoring evaluations

Use the following job aid as a checklist that will guide you in designing your own mentoring evaluation plans.

  • Check objectives for program from company's mission statement

  • Check objectives for program with CEO and major decision makers

  • Decide when to carry out summative and formative evaluations

  • Decide on the specific objectives you're measuring within each measurement category:

    • People

    • Process

    • Organization

  • Think about how you're going to structure the evaluation and gather data for each of the four steps:

  1. Gather people's reactions

  2. Assess whether desired learning outcomes have been achieved

  3. Assess whether learning outcomes have successfully transferred to positive behavioral changes in the workplace

  4. Assess the impact of the program on the organization as a whole.

Ensure your evaluation report contains practical recommendations for improving the program in the future.
