Mental Game Coaching

Sports Performance, a passion for sports and coaching

Coaching is my passion. And so is sports, which I find is a great metaphor of life.

Through my coaching, I offer a goal-oriented framework that will help you to perform up to your true potential by improving the necessary mental skills to excel in your sporting endeavor.

You will get to know yourself better, learn what mental skills you want to improve and how, gain insights, be more effective, and improve your performance. - Florence Meunier

Meet Florence Meunier, Mental Game Coach

Certified MGCP®
  • Florence’s background includes more than 26 years of experience in American multinationals in various sectors, and managerial roles with international scope. Leaving the corporate world a few years ago, she is the founder of her own consultancy Lean4U, mainly dedicated to Learning & Development, Executive Coaching and Mental Game Coaching.

  • In business, it is (usually) not enough to be smart and savvy to be successful. Likewise in sport competition, being technical and performing well during training are not enough to win, they are just the “entry tickets”.

  • Florence helps athletes, teams and parents understand what Mental Game is and how to get prepared mentally to go beyond those entry tickets.

  • Passionate about sports, Florence is a former French national and European champion water-skier, and if she loves all sports, her areas of expertise are water-skiing, tennis and equestrian.

  • Originally from France, Florence coaches in French, English, Spanish and Italian. You can also connect with Florence in LinkedIn and book a free consultation here.

What the reality says

Athletes spend an incredible amount of time and money focusing on learning and improving the “mechanics” of their sport (the technical aspect). However, if some try and spare time preparing physically their bodies for competition, the mental game part of performance is usually left to chance.

What is Mental Game Coaching about?

Mental Game Coaching is about helping athletes to perform up to their true potential by improving the necessary mental skills to excel in a sporting endeavor.

The impact of mental factors in sports is overwhelming

Athletes get stuck in slumps and performance plateau. Athletes lose confidence. Athletes get frustrated and tank. Athletes choke when it matters the most… Mental Game Coaching is the most effective supplement in sports.

What do Mental Game Coaches do?

A mental game coach is your personal performance coach who trains your mind to help take your body where you want it to go and accomplish all you can within your sport. In other words, a Mental Game Coach prepares you mentally for the rigors of training and competing through proven, effective, specific and tangible strategies.

Mental Game Coaches can help you break through being “average,” help you overcome limiting beliefs, and help you turn your athletic dreams into a reality.

In other words, a Mental Game Coach is primarily to help athletes to be more confident, focus better, stay composed under pressure, practice more efficiently.

Be proactive, not reactive

Many athletes seek help from mental game coaches only when problems arise (such as they have confidence issues, dealing with the frustration of performance slumps, managing late-game pressure, dealing with high expectations, etc.). These are mental game challenges that may be hindering your or your team’s performance. Overcoming these mental game hurdles could greatly improve your performance and the results you see.

That said, what about proactively getting help to gain an edge over the competition, improve consistency or get to the next level within your sport?

How can athletes benefit from Mental Game Coaching?

  1. Improve focus and deal with distractions

  2. Grow confidence in athletes who have doubts

  3. Develop coping skills to deal with setbacks and errors

  4. Find the right zone of intensity for your sport

  5. Help teams develop communication skills and cohesion

  6. To instill a healthy belief system and identify irrational thoughts

  7. Improve or balance motivation for optimal performance

  8. Develop confidence post-injury

  9. To develop game-specific strategies and game plans

  10. To identify and enter the “zone” more often

Who does Mental Game Coaching apply for?

Mental Game Coaching applies to individual athletes of course, but also to teams and parents.

Learning mental skills from a Mental Game Coach can be applied to a wide range of settings outside of sport, such as school, relationships, conflict resolution, career goals, and overall life satisfaction.

I propose three coaching packages for 1) Individual athletes, 2) Teams and 3) Parents.
